Recipes

Below are a few examples. MANY more recipes are available through the Balance Program available FREE to our clients.

The Balance Program offers a way to manage your overall wellness by providing you with the ability to manage your meals, supplements, hydration, exercise and stress. You will be able to track your progress and get healthy recipes from our approved food list, plan menus and allow the program to build your grocery list. You can build a customized exercise plan and see demonstrations of "how to" for each exercise - like having a personal trainer available whenever you want! The program offers many more features, and unlike other weight loss programs that have monthly charges for programs that give less, ours is FREE to our clients and is available NOW.

Seasoned Green Beans


Ingredients:
1 package green beans (fresh or frozen, no salt added)
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 oregano
1 pinch Italian seasoning
1 pinch pepper
1 pinch anise seeds
1 pinch onion
1/2 teaspoon vinegar

Directions
  • In a bowl combine the green beans with all the ingredients
  • Chill before serving.

Crystal Light Icee

Ingredients
1 packet of your favorite Crystal Light drink mix flavor

Directions
  • Mix Crystal Light in water
  • Chill in freezer in an ice tray
  • Once frozen, put into a blender
  • Blend to the consistency you like
You can enjoy it as a Slushy or with a Spoon

Chocolate Strawberries

Ingredients
6 fresh strawberries
1 tablespoon sugar free chocolate syrup (Walden Farms)

Directions
  • Slice the strawberries and drizzle the chocolate syrup
  • You can also warm the syrup and dip the strawberries
  • Although sugar free do not exceed 1 tablespoon per serving
Exciting Boiled Eggs

Ingredients
2 hardboiled eggs
1/2 teaspoon bacon bits
2 teaspoon mustard
1/2 teaspoon Miracle Whip (fat free)

Directions
  • Slice to have 4 portions
  • In a bowl mix together the mustard and Miracle Whip together
  • Add salt&pepper to taste
  • Spread on top of eggs and sprinkle bacon bits on top
Enjoy alone or on a bed of lettuce

Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients
4 oz. chicken breast
1/2 head of lettuce (any type, but butter lettuce works best)
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1/4 cup chopped red pepper
1/4 cup bamboo shoots
1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce

Directions
  • In a sauce pan cook the chicken breast with all the ingredients (except the lettuce)
  • If your using Iceberg lettuce cut a head of lettuce in half so that you can separate the lettuce into oval shape cups
  • The Boston lettuce or Butter lettuce are best to wrap the chicken
  • Once cooked, cube the chicken breast and mix well with your onion&pepper
  • Place 2 Tablespoon of mixture on lettuce and wrap like a burrito.
Dipping Sauce

1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
10 spritzes balsamic vinaigrette salad spritzer
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard
Combine all ingredients. Mix well.

Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients
4 large mushrooms
2 slices low fat cheese
1 dash of dried parsley
1 dash of ground pepper
Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Remove stem from mushrooms and that will give you the cavity to add ingredients
  • Chop up the cheese in tiny pieces and fill the cavity of the mushroom
  • Sprinkle with remaining ingredients
  • Spray cooking spray (Pam) on oven dish and place mushrooms inside
  • Cook for 10 min or until cheese has melted.
Veggie French Fries

Ingredients
1 egg white
1 teaspoon water
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 cup string beans (fresh, not frozen or canned) French cut work best
1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese

Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350° Grease pan or cookie sheet with cooking spray (Pam)
  • Mix first 3 ingredients in a bowl
  • Dip the string bean in the mixture and place them one by one on the pan
  • Place in the oven for about 5 minutes and finish at the broil setting

Western Omelet

Ingredients
2 eggs or Egg Beaters
1/4 cup cooked or raw broccoli
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green peppers
1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
1/4 cup low fat cheese
1 teaspoon bacon bits
1 teaspoon olive oil
salt and pepper

Directions
  • Whisk all the ingredients well
  • In a warm skillet (coated with cooking spray or Pam) add 1 teaspoon of Olive Oil
  • Add the mixture
  • Cover for about 5 minutes
  • Check to see that it looks cooked and flip over to cook the other side
  • Cover for additional 5 minutes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
This can be enjoyed as a weekend Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner

Cheese Broccoli Soup

Ingredients
1 cup fat free chicken or beef broth
1/2 cup broccoli florets
2-3 oz. low fat Swiss cheese (of your favorite type)
1 dash oregano, cumin, onion, & garlic powder each

Directions
  • Boil the broccoli with broth and all seasonings
  • After cooking for a short period of time, place all ingredients except the cheese in the blender
  • Blend until desired consistency, For thicker soup add less broth
  • After well blended, pour in bowl
  • Top with cheese and microwave for 30 - 60 seconds or until cheese is melted

Tilapia Surprise

Ingredients
4 oz. Tilapia (or favorite fish)
1/2 cup mushrooms
1/2 cup broccoli
1/2 cup cauliflower
1/2 cup green peppers
1/2 cup red peppers
1/2 cup green onions
1 teaspoon olive oil

Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • In a pan, place the fish on foil sheet large enough to fold around it with all the ingredients
  • Coat fish with olive oil
  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until done 
  • Then open the aluminum foil & enjoy!

Cabbage Lasagna

Ingredients
2 cups cabbage, big leaves boiled
4 oz. ground turkey
1/2 cup Heinz One Carb ketchup
2 oz. low fat cheese
2 teaspoon Parmesan cheese
Italian seasonings

Directions
  • Heat over to 350°
  • Spray lasagna pan with cooking spray (Pam)
  • Boil cabbage and put aside (these leaves will be used to make lasagna layers)
  • Cook turkey with seasonings & ketchup
  • Then start by placing a layer of cabbage into the pan
  • Then add a layer of ground turkey
  • Then add a layer of cabbage
  • Continue until all cabbage and turkey have been used
  • Top with cheese
  • Bake until cheese is melted
